Chakras are our energy centers. There are 7 Chakras which provide the openings for life energy to flow into and out of our bodies aura. They vitalize our physical body and to bring about the development of our self-consciousness. They are associated with our physical, mental and emotional interactions.
The meaning of the word ‘chakra’ comes from a Sanskrit word meaning wheel. If you could see Chakras you would be able to see each chakra as a spinning wheel of energy; spinning inward from the front of your body towards the center point of that chakra and then spinning outward from that same point from your back.
In our bodies there are centers of energy that we use, whether consciously or unconsciously which affect reality and allow us to fully experience events that spread before us. These points are called Chakras.
These Chakras are located in important parts of our body such as your head or heart. Organs within the area of these Chakras are used to control; and are, directly affected by the properties of that particular Chakra.
One of the 7 Chakras is called the Root Chakra and is located at the base of the spine. This Chakra is closely related to the body governs our ability to master it. Our health, constitution and security are inexplicitly linked to this Chakra. Each of the 7 Chakras has a color. The root Chakra color is red and is assigned the ruby and garnet gemstones
The next of the 7 Chakras is located in the lower abdomen. This Chakra is identified with the acts of giving and receiving, and is tied into physical feelings of love, passion and sexuality. Pleasure is also linked with this Chakra. This Chakra has the color orange and the gemstones assigned are Amber and Coral.
One Chakra is located in the solar plexus located just above the navel and below the chest. This Chakra is a focus for our force of will and our feeling of transformation. Concentration and control of our personal energies originate from this point. Our sense of power and authority including our self-control and discipline of the ego come together here. Its color is yellow and gemstones are Amber and Gold.
The very heart of the 7 Chakras is found at the center of the chest and being so is the focus for love and understanding. Feelings that come from this love such as forgiveness, compassion, balance and harmony radiate from this chakra. It also nurtures the feeling of love, love that goes beyond the physical. Green is the color of this chakra and emerald and malachite are its gemstones.
One Chakra is located directly in the throat between one’s chin and the top of the sternum. This is linked to one’s powers of communication. Through this Chakra, one can determine truth, knowledge; honesty, kindness and wisdom and how these can be passed on through thoughtful speech. Color is sky blue and the gems are turquoise and blue topaz.
One of the main Chakras relating to the “psychic “ is the Brow Chakra which is located in the forehead, right above our eyes. This is also known as the “Third Eye” in other religions such as Buddhism and other belief systems. Of the 7 Chakras this one is related to our perception beyond the physical realm. Intuition, insight, imagination and clairvoyance are all associated with the Brow Chakra. One can also focus their realization of their soul, divine wisdom and peace of mind. Gemstones are Lapiz, Lazuli and Sapphire. The color is Indigo.
The last of the 7 Chakras is the Crown Chakra and is located at the very top of the head. This Chakra is associated directly with the mind and spirit. It is tied to the exploration of one’s consciousness and place in space and time. Oneness with the universe, your spirit and will, inspiration, divine wisdom… all the things that deal with the higher self are set in this Chakra. It’s color is violet and gemstones are Amethyst, Diamonds and Quartz Crystal.
